Interfaith Dialogue and Muslim view of other Religions

This questionnaire aims to find out if and how the interfaith dialogue (IFD) influences the Muslim view of other religions. The research is anonymous. Its outcome will be presented at international conference of the University of West Bohemia, Pilsen, Czech Republic. The research is done by Ms Katerina Dekanovska, Ph.D., Czech Christian researcher in interfaith dialogue, Islam and Muslim communities in Europe and the Middle East.

I am very grateful to you for your time and willingness you invest in your responses. Please, do not hesitate to spread the questionnaire among your Muslim friends and colleagues, which might be interested. The context of the respondents may differ substantially, so some questions may seem to you strange. Please, respond them as you consider the best.

3.	Which other religious traditions have you studied?

4.	What motivated you to take part in the IFD?

5.	What importance does it play for you, whether your interfaith partner is a monotheist or a polytheist?

6.	How did your approach to other religions changed during your interfaith engagement?

7.	How do you evaluate your own experience with particular believer of other faith or a different religious group as whole?

8.	How do you deal with problems common to Muslims and other religious groups?

9.	How did the IFD contribute to your better understanding of the European thought and life style?

10.	How did the different religious life of people of other faiths as witnessed in the interfaith dialogue influence or change your own personal life of faith?

11.	How did your interfaith engagement change your opinion on the meaning and role of people of other faiths in the wholeness of the Muslim Revelation?

12.	How did your interfaith engagement change your view of the Muslim religious tradition?

Note: Last three questions are aimed on your reflection of your own faith – how it changed (if it changed) during your interfaith engagement. If and how the spirituality of the others influenced your own spirituality. If and how changed your opinion about others and moved you to revise your understanding on what role do other religions play from the perspective of Muslim interpretation tradition. If and how changed your understanding of your own tradition vis a vis other religious traditions.
