Spiritual Guidance in our Multi-faith Society
This is the Christian Muslim Forum’s third event, supported by Islamic Relief, for Christian and Muslim women and men providing spiritual guidance. We are holding this conference for Christians and Muslims working with people in the multi-faith communities of the North of England.
Conference Details
The keynote speakers are Canon Dr Frances Ward, Bradford Cathedral and Ahtsham Ali, Muslim Prisoner Advisor, Her Majesty’s Prison Service. Speakers and workshops will supply insights and practical strategies for the provision of spiritual guidance in a range of contexts, including:
Awakening Spirituality in Children by Nabila Winter (Cambridge International Preparatory School);
Spiritual Guidance and Promoting Community Cohesion by Mufti Yusuf Akudi (Indian Muslim Welfare Association) and Dr Philip Lewis (Bradford University)

Spiritual Guidance for Prisoners by Khalil Kazi (President, Christian Muslim Forum) and Peter Tarleton (Chaplain, Her Majesty’s Prison Leeds)
Spiritual Guidance for Patients by Rehana Sadiq and Sue Shewring (Chaplains at University Hospital Birmingham)
Spiritual Guidance for Young People by Shamim Miah (Leading To Respect, Oldham) and Revd. Howard Sutcliffe, (Werneth and Freehold Community Development Project).

Conference Booking
To book a place you will need to register as a member of our website (go to home page). Once registered you can book on line using the links below. Online booking and payment helps us to keep our administration costs to a minimum. If you wish to pay by alternative means then complete the online booking procedure and follow the alternative payment instructions.
There is a maximum of 50 residential and 30 day places. Prices include accomodation (if staying overnight), all meals and refreshments. Concessionary prices are available for unemployed people.
We will confirm attendance by 1 April 2008 for bookings made before this date, and by 22 April for later bookings. Please note that care will be taken to ensure a balance of Christian and Muslim participants. Cancellations: 100% refund before 1 April, 50% refund up to 13 April, nil refund from 14 April onwards.
